Justine Avtjoglou

I was born in Memphis, Tennessee.  I am the daughter of a first-generation immigrant; my father is a Greek-South African, but my mother is native to New Jersey.  I grew up in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

I double majored at University of California in Santa Barbara in both Classics and Philosophy.  I then returned to my home state of Pennsylvania for law school.  I attended Pennsylvania State University’s Law School.  After graduation, I worked as a criminal defense attorney in Pennsylvania for about two years.  Then, I pack up my U-haul and returned to California.  In 2007, I was admitted to practice law in California.

I practice both criminal and family law.  I have over 15 years of litigation experience.  In my career, I first chaired over 50 jury trials and twelve bench trials to verdict.  I have conducted tens of thousands of hearings and written writs of habeas corpus and appeals.  I have spent the last 15 years fighting in court.  I am one of the few people who is lucky enough to say, I love what I do.  I also love my son, my dog and horses.

I am passionate, motivated, experienced, empathetic, energetic and waiting to fight for you.
